"Ads for Adobe" Beta
We are participating as a beta tester for a new service that displays context-sensitive ads in the margins of pdf files. If you click the thumbnail of the pdf on this page, you will be prompted to upgrade your Adobe Reader software to a new version that supports this feature. If you would rather not upgrade at this time, you can still view the pdf with your existing Adobe Reader software.
It's interesting to see which ads are selected for each article, and some of them are good for a laugh! For example, our "Elvis is Everywhere" pdf now displays ads for Elvis memorabilia. However, our Dr. Dobb's Life 2.0 Summit (Part 1) pdf displays ads for chisels! (That's because the article mentions Vyrnox Ming's "Chisel" programming language.)
So please take it for a spin and let us know what you think!
