San Diego, California — If you’re in the area, you might enjoy taking a field trip into Second Life, courtesy of the San Diego Community College Continuing Education Program. Tour guides Randall Cornish and Carolyn O’Barr will be taking a group of students on what promises to be the “journey of a lifetime” into the virtual world.

Participants will learn basic survival skills such as how to walk, fly, and teleport, and receive an introduction to in-world culture and etiquette. After the basics are down, students will learn how to communicate with others, find out about events, participate in activities, engage in virtual e-commerce, and build 3-D objects.
